Consortia refers to a mix of multiple microorganisms that, when present in the rhizosphere, influence the structure and productivity of natural plant ecosystems, either directly or indirectly. Also known as Bio NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium), consortia consist of various beneficial microbes that collaborate to offer a holistic nutrient management solution for plants. These consortia include different bacterial strains, fungi, and other advantageous microorganisms.

Each microorganism within the consortia serves a distinct function, such as nitrogen fixation, phosphorus solubilization, and potassium mobilization, thus enhancing the availability and uptake of these essential nutrients by plants. By employing Bio NPK consortia, farmers can improve nutrient efficiency, boost soil health, promote crop growth and yield, and reduce their dependence on synthetic fertilizers, supporting sustainable and eco-friendly farming practices. Bio NPK is a blend of Azotobacter, Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria, and Potash Mobilizing Bacteria, which together provide a complete nutritional solution for crops.

  1. Azotobacter: This microorganism has the capacity to convert atmospheric nitrogen into a usable form, reducing the need for chemical fertilizers. It can fix nitrogen at a rate of 20-40 kg per hectare, providing a vital nitrogen source for plant development.
  2. PSB (Phosphorus Solubilizing Bacteria): PSB generates organic acids that aid in phosphate absorption, leading to improved maturity and higher yield. Organic acids such as malic, succinic, fumaric, citric, tartaric, and acetic acids enhance the solubility and uptake of phosphate by plants.
  3. KMB (Potassium Mobilizing Bacteria): KMB boosts crop resistance to diseases and stress factors. It also secretes growth-regulating hormones, which can enhance crop productivity. By mobilizing insoluble potassium, KMB reduces the need for potash fertilizers by 50-60%.
  4. Provision of Essential Nutrients: The Bio NPK consortia ensures the availability of vital nutrients in the correct proportions for crops. This balanced nutrient supply fosters healthy plant growth and overall development.
  5. Prevention of Micronutrient Deficiencies: The consortia helps avert micronutrient deficiencies that may arise at various stages of crop growth. By delivering a complete nutrient profile, it ensures crops receive the necessary elements throughout their growth period.
  6. Chelation with EDTA: The presence of EDTA (Ethylene Diamine Tetraacetic Acid) chelates in the consortia promotes the rapid absorption of individual microelements by plants. This enhances nutrient uptake efficiency, ensuring plants obtain the required micronutrients for optimal growth and development.
